Hi John, thanks for the call. I was just going to reach out to you about your mom when I found out about Joy... I was on the 91 fwy coming home from OC to Temecula... I'm so sorry about your mom. She is a wonderful person. The first time I came over she welcomed me in with the hugest smile ever. I had never seen a Christian adult with a genuine smile that only being filled with the HS could provide.
THEN I knocked on the Boyer door so many years ago. Right after I came in I was greeted by you with an even bigger smile.
THEN I went to Calvary CM and saw the same Holy Spirit in 5000 people..
THEN you brought Bob Bennet in to lead worship. (This week I have listened to so many of his songs).
THEN you brought in D. Mansfield, Rosie Greer, Barry and his burritos etc..
THEN after FB games we had communion instead of drinks and weed.
THEN we went on a 32-0 streak and a 14-0 season with National Rankings and an unheard of Radio Station that Calvary ended up buying - 107.9 FM.
THEN we went to the Grand Canyon and got closer to Christ as we lost keys in Needles and Rescued Dave Witherby out of a Pit similar to Joseph.
THEN we realized Christ had more work for Dave just like Joseph years before.
I can go on an on with THEN THIS HAPPENED... However, we need to mention...
THEN many young people got saved and found purpose and meaning in their lives.
THEN I REALIZED I was one of those youngsters and I married the Hottest Blond in the group who happened to be the coaches daughter. You performed the greatest covenant a young man could have in our marriage ceremony.
THEN I Realized on the 91 fwy some 32 years later... as I learned of our sweet Joy going to heaven how blessed I was to have friends and family like John, Mark and Mr. and Mrs. Boyer. A Family used by Christ to build a Solid Foundation in so many young lives knowing that the Storms will come but preparing us for that day.
THEN I Remembered what you said about God's hand being in every event... Rom 8:28
THEN I realized as I drove the 91 home to my meet my beautiful wife that "every event" included my daughters tragedy.. And all was Good...
THEN I Finally Realized When Jesus said, "Be Still" it wasn't just directed at the Storm... It was directed also at His friends.
THEN I Remembered from you to Be Still and Trust Christ beyond the elements and circumstances of my life.
THEN SUDDENLY I was made aware that your mom was behind the scenes orchestrating events at the house... It also reminded me how the Holy Spirit is moving in my own life to Love Him and Serve others.
THEN I thought, "Wow how fortunate my life has been to know the Boyers." Because it's in times like this when the Word of God comes to Life with Trust, Faith and Hope...
