Today's Coach is Pastor Adrian Rogers. Today's Receiver is Jesus.
Here Coach Rogers wants us to be aware of the enemy.
If you are doing great in the game the other team is going to try to stop you.
They will put their best defender on you you to make sure you don't make another great catch or score another basket or hit another home run.
Jesus was having an Incredible game. He was "Prepared to be Prepared" for these Great Victories.
Many people were finally able to have a Future and a Hope. Jer 29:11
However the enemy was not happy. The enemy changes his game plan and tries to stop Jesus from Scoring more Touchdowns.
In Luke 4 Jesus is tempted by the enemy after fasting for 40 days. His flesh was weak. Jesus uses the Playbook (Scripture, God's Word) to defeat the enemy.
Jesus knew his flesh was weak at this moment and he needs to rely on the Playbook, the Word of God in His Life.
He was Prepared to be Prepared. He Watched Game Film and had a Great Scouting Report to run the Right play at the Right time
"Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time." Luke 4:13
Notice how the enemy gave up for now but he will look for another opportune time.
Read what Coach Rogers says about this in the following. He is a Great Coach with so much insight.
"Ten Percent of Life is made up of what happens to you--the other 90 percent is how you respond to what happens to you."
"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

In every action you do ask yourself:
"Am I moving toward God or away from God?"

"The Devil After the Dove" Principle Devotional thought from the messages of Adrian Rogers
BIBLE MEDITATION: "Neither give place to the devil." Ephesians 4:27
DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT: Have you ever gotten into an argument with a family member on the way to church? Don't look so pious! Every preacher knows that the devil will try to attack God's children right before church, after church—on the way home in the car!
There is a spiritual principle here that we need to learn. It is what I call "the devil after the dove" principle. Just as when Jesus was baptized and a dove descended, then right after He was led into the wilderness and tempted, so it will be with you.
When God does something great or when you get the approval of God about something, you can expect the attack of the enemy.
ACTION POINT: Leonard Ravenhill said, "When God opens the windows of heaven to bless us, the devil is going to open the doors of hell to blast us."
Have you had a wonderful spiritual experience recently? Then you better not start coasting. If the devil tempted Jesus, be sure he will tempt you as well. Pass This On To a Friend
