Fw: What is Your Cause? Just Do It!

Team:

Today's Coach is Pastor Bob Coy. Today's Quarterback is Paul the Apostle.

Paul shares some great success stories in the Playbook of Hebrews chapter 11. He shows us these Successful people to give us Hope for our own Future.

Paul also shows the people who died for what they believed in.

"They were Stoned; they were Sawed in two; they were put to Death by Sword...
Persecuted...Mistreated...the World was not Worthy of them." Hebrews 11:37-38

Sometimes being a believer in Christ is Tough. What gives you the Drive to keep going when all is against you?

The Hebrew 11 Leaders had a Cause.

A Cause and a Purpose so Big nothing could stop them.

They had the Nike "Just Do It Attitude."

Like David once said, "is there no Cause in Israel?"

David Knew to Succeed and Win You must have a Cause.

What is a Cause? Something you are Sold out for. Something so deep that it doesn't matter what it takes. I'm going to succeed.

A Cause says,

"Just Do it."

A Cause says,

"It is Time to Stand Up and Lead"

A Cause says,

"Just Do It!!"

A Cause says,

"I will Lead by Example"

A Cause says,

"Just Do it"

Here are some other Heroes who had a Cause and said,

"Just Do it"

In 445 B.C. Esther was told " this is your Cause and Purpose in Life. For you to go to the King and Save Israel."

"But what if the king doesn't listen me?

Just Do it!

"What if I get my head cut off."

Just Do it!

Esther had a Cause that was so deep it did not matter if her life was on the line. It was that important!

Esther Did It!

In 1776 General George Washington was Sold Out for the Cause but was also out of Money.

He had the future of the U.S.A. on his shoulders. People were sick, dying, and losing their feet from gangrene. There was no hope.

They said, "General Washington can you do it?"

"But we are out of money and resources."
"General Washington can you Do It?"

"But we are low on personnel."

"General Washington can you Do It?"

"You don't understand the British have too much Manpower?"

"General Washington can you Do It?"

General Washington said, " Yes We will Just Do It."

Then God sent Haym Solomon from Israel to give George Washington $700,000 (3 Trillion in today's money).

Haym said,

"General Washington Just Do It!"

Haym said, "I will Burn Down My House to Preserve God's House - The New Promisde Land - The United States of America."

Haym Soloman burnt his house down when he found out the British we're going to use his house as their headquarters. Haym died with no Money and no House but that didn't matter.

Haym Soloman had Cause,
"
Just Do It!"

That is what True Life is all about. A Cause so Big it is beyond you and you just don't worry about your life. My Life is God's Life anyway. I'm Sold Out to God.
You Just Do It!

Do you want to Win League - CIF - State?

Do you Want to Huddle in Front of Sports West at the State Game and Show how an Awesome God can Give People Hope not only in Football but in Life?

Have a Cause and Just Do It!

Be a Leader, Gather your Troops and
Just Do It!

Then I heard the voice of the Lord (Coach) saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I Send Me!"
Isaiah6:8

Is that you? Is the Coach calling You? Is

He saying whom shall I send?

Say, "Send Me!"

I Believe God is calling you. In fact I know He is calling you.

Just Do it!

You Just Do It and Do it and Do it till you get it done.

Have a Cause - Lead your Troops and Just Do It!

See you on Fox Sports next December!

Now - Just Go! Win the Day!

A happy ending?
Still others had trial... Hebrews 11:36 (NKJV)
In rounding out our examination of faith, an interesting detail emerges in the closing verses of Hebrews Chapter 11.

For the greater portion of the chapter, we're introduced to the valiant, the victorious, and the vindicated figures of faith.

We read about Noah building the ark and saving humanity, about Abraham, Joseph, Moses, David, and Daniel. These are all what we would consider "glory stories." They have the happy ending we all want to associate with faith.

Then the chapter takes a turn in verse 36. It switches its attention to those who "had trial." That's a polite biblical way of saying that their stories didn't have a happy ending.

There's torture, there's enslavement, there's imprisonment, there's banishment, there's even execution in the cruelest of forms. These aren't the biblical bedtime stories we want to hear or share.

Yet they're included here, and the reason is to show us that faith isn't just something that enables us to overcome in this life, but it's also something that enables us to endure this life...no matter how painful or difficult it may be.

Notice the spiritual seal of approval placed on their lives:

And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith... (Hebrews 11:39 NKJV)

There are those who would suggest that if you have enough faith you'll have an easy life. Not according to God's Word.

Sometimes it's God's purpose for His people to suffer, and when it is, we need to remember that it's not because we've fallen short in the faith department. In fact, it's under adverse conditions that our faith actually shines brightest.
