Fw: Leadership that Lifts Up

Team:

The students of Elisha were very excited about their new opportunities. They began to take the first steps (Initiating Leadership) toward achieving their goals. As they were building they had to borrow some equipment.

Right away they were challenged when an unfortunate circumstance tried to take them out of the game. This young man was trying his best and he swung a little too hard and lost the borrowed axhead in the water.

"Oh no, how am I going to repay the person I borrowed it from?"

"And Elisha went with them. They went to the Jordon and began to cut down trees. As one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron axhead fell into the water. "Oh my lord," he cried out, "it was borrowed!" The man of God asked, "Where did it fall?" When he showed him the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it there, and made the iron float."
2 Kings 6:4-6

Sometimes we feel like we are trying our best but for some reason "things keep pulling us down."

Elisha shows us that God is in control of everything (even the law gravity) and can always Turn Things Around. If God can make an iron axhead Arise and Float on Water then God can make us Rise and Float over our circumstances.

Notice the axhead Floated on Water.

God also wants us to Float on Water. The Stick that Elisha through in the Water is like the Cross. The Cross will always help us Rise out of our Circumstances. Water is the Bible which is God's Word. When we are weighed down by things God will cause us to Rise and then Float.

God initiates the Action by causing us to rise out of our circumstances then we respond by reading His Word Daily to stay afloat and Win the Game.

To stay on top of the Water we need to be Focused on His Word - The Playbook Daily.

One more thing. Notice Elisha did not ridicule, criticise, yell or scream at the Player for the unfortunate mistake. He Encouraged Him and Initiated Action.

That is what God does with us. That is True Leadership.

Finish the Play - Finish Strong!

Just Go! Win the Day!
