Some of us live like Psalm 103:12 says that. We beat ourselves up over and over with the woulda coulda shouda's.
Then we say, "why bother? I'm no good anyway so I will just live day by day getting by! I will settle for a life of losing!"

In sports when teams have losing seasons the Coach has to find a way to redefine what winning is.
The coach has to look deep and start planning for next year. He needs to make some tough choices that will benefit the future of his team.
If the Coach is lucky enough to keep his job (especially with the Media and the Alumni putting pressure on him or her) then he/she will have to produce winning a product the following year.

CEO's and Presidents of companies are the same way. When they have a losing quarter they need to find a way to keep the stockholders happy with future projections.
The CEO and President have to Perform or they are out!

That is Awesome Gregg!!! Check out Chuck Smith's Surfer memorial on line. It was amazing! My mother in Law's friend Alice sent some pictures. I will forward. There is one with a Rainbow over the surfers gathering in the ocean for the memorial. It was like God was saying "this is only the beginning I'm going to take Chuck's Work and multiply it 1000 x. It was like when Noah landed. Thanks Alice and Sherri for the Pictures!!

When is "Attention!" used and why?
Officers in the Military stand at Attention for respect.

In boxing matches the announcer uses Attention to invite the crowd into the boxing ring.
"Your Attention Please! In this corner weighing.......".
Judges use "Attention!" When the court gets out of control.

Here in I Peter God wants to get our attention before we get out of control:
"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he May devour." 1 Peter 5:8 KJ
Friends, Why is God trying to get our attention? Are we spinning out of Control? Do we need to learn more Respect?

TEAM 180:
When did you see the Lord for the first time?
I know that none of us have physically seen God at any time however we have seen the Work of God haven't we?
180 SECRET - IN THAT YEAR I SAW THE LORD!
This is how it was in Isaiah's day. The people were desperate for a leader and Uzziah was the Leader that God used to bring Israel back to Him.
"In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple."
Isaiah 6:1
180 SECRET - IN THAT YEAR I SAW THE LORD!
Isaiah and the people didn't see the work of God toward the end of Uzziah's long reign as King of Israel. They only remembered the past and what it used to be like when Uzziah first came to a Leadership position.
So when Uzziah passed away Isaiah was forced to look for a New Work of God in his own life and in Israel.
180 SECRET - IN THAT YEAR I SAW THE LORD!
Notice that he saw the Lord High, Exalted and Seated on a Throne. The Train of His robe filled the Temple with Glory.
Friends, sometimes when someone of Great Leadership passes on the Lord uses this as an Opportunity for all of us to get our own House in Order.
Sometimes we rely on the Church, Pastor, Parents, Past Experience, Pope etc... for our own relationship with God.

For Isaiah as well as us we tend to get complacent and take for granite what God did in the early days of a Ministry like Calvary Chapel.
In the early days the TENT on Sunflower was filled with the Presence of God Seated High and Exalted. The Train of His Robe filled the TENT with desperate people looking for answers.
The Train of His Robe was seen as the Traffic Jams and Caravans of cars on Sunflower and MacArthur in Santa Ana Ca.
The Train of His Glory was literally 4-5 thousand people parking miles away and walking to the Tent of Meeting!
180 SECRET: WHY THEN AND NOT NOW!
The Church became an Institution in the early part of the First and Second Century AD as the Newness wore off.
180 SECRET - IN THAT YEAR I SAW THE LORD!
It's like the excitement of that brand new car. Five years later the newness has totally worn off and it is time for a new car.
Pastor Chuck Warned us not to live on the Past but on the Now and the Future Work of God!
Pastor Chuck also Encouraged us to take Responsibility for our own Relationship with God and not to rely on an institution.
Today, where is your relationship with God? When was the last time you saw the Work of God in your own life and the life of others?
Let's respond as Isaiah did:

TEAM 180:
Have you ever wanted to replay in your mind something over and over again hoping for a different outcome?
Our minds have a way of reminding us of all our mistakes over and over again don't they?
180 SECRET - CAN YOU REPLAY THE OUTCOME?
Why did I do that? Why did I say that? Can I go back and change what I did for a different outcome?
If I only coulda woulda shoulda...
Why didn't I say I'm sorry?
Why didn't I prepare?
Paul had these thoughts at different times in his Life. These thoughts can send us Spinning and Reeling out of control.
Sometimes Replaying the scenes over and over again trying to change the impossible causes Mental Stress which causes Pain and Depression.
180 SECRET - CAN YOU REPLAY THE OUTCOME?
When Paul was in front of Caesar he said to himself:
"When no one showed up to help me the Lord showed up and stood beside me."
"The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said, "Take courage! As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome." Acts 23:11
When Paul noticed that young Timothy was Replaying his mistakes over and over he Encourage him with Acts 23:11.
People were questioning Timothy's Leadership because he was young. Paul told Timothy not to despise his youth and to be Confident. Sometimes it gets lonely in Leadership whether you're Leading a group or yourself.
In the book of Jeremiah, Jeremiah also had these Depressing thoughts. Most if not all of the Great Prophets and Leaders in the Bible were very Depressed, Lonely, Afraid, Empty, Guilt Ridden, Suicidal etc...
In today's society they would have been diagnosed with Severe Clinical Depression. In fact, Jeremiah wrote the Book of Lamentations is a book about God's sorrow for us when we continue to rely on everything other than Him.
180 SECRET - CAN YOU REPLAY THE OUTCOME?
One Time Jeremiah said this:
"Everyone is against me so I'm going to shut up.... but I couldn't shut up because The Word of God burned within me."
Friends, God uses our Weakness so He can be the Strength of our Lives.
Look at the Contrast in Jeremiah's Thoughts. He goes from Quitting to Executing.
What was the Key to Jeremiah's Transformation?
It was the Power of the Holy Spirit giving Him a Purpose and a Plan for his Journey and Pilgrimage on Earth.
"Sometimes you have to be alone to know you are not alone." Chuck Smith
180 SECRET: God wants to do the same Transformation with us through His Holy Spirit in our lives.
Remember, we Serve a God that wants to Lift us Up! The Bible says when we Humble ourselves He Lifts us Up and Gives us Grace!
When Paul was Depressed Jesus didn't say, "I told you Paul! "He said, "hey bro be of good cheer! I need you to go to Rome!" I need you to get back in the Game!
Today, turn off that Recorder of Regrets in your brain and Replace it with God's Recorder of Grace!
Today, learn to Accept the mistakes you have made and turn them into Opportunities!
Today remember that Thomas Edison made 1500 mistakes until he invented the Light Bulb.

Paul was Persecuted, Beaten, Lied About, Ridiculed, Made Fun Of etc... yet wasn't Moved. How did he do this and avoid the Whirlwind of the "What Ifs" and Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda's?

When we are Tempted by the tempter it is not just enticing things like sex, drugs etc.. The tempter will also tempt us to question God, Faith and Purpose!
When being tempted it is so important to know our Purpose. Jesus was at his weakest point in the Wilderness when He was tempted by the tempter.

What did Jesus rely on?
"Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread." Matthew 4:1-11
Friends, Jesus relied on THE SPIRIT AND THE WORD OF GOD!

In Football Smart coaches will test their teams mental preparedness at the end of practice during wind sprints when they are exhausted with cadence calls.
This is Crucial Preparation that a lot of coaches forget about.
At Edison, Coach Workman always stressed the "little things" that will make a difference in the game. He told us if we are Prepared Now then in the game we will execute when times are tough.
It is the same in our Spiritual Life. We need to be Prepared to be Prepared. Jesus knew His Playbook like the back of his hand.

He said, "it is written..... "
Then the tempter said, "if you are the Son of God then..... for it is written."
The tempter tries to put us on our heals by trying to be one step ahead of us. The tempter also questioned what was written in the Playbook because he knows the Playbook.
Then Jesus came back with the answer in context by saying, "it is also written..."
Then the tempter went in for the strike and said, "you don't have to go to the Cross Jesus we can do this another way .... Just bow down to me and I will let you get out of the agreement that was agreed to before time began."
The Agreement was Jesus's Purpose!
God the Son's Purpose wasn't to come here to rule this earth. His Purpose for coming here was to die in our place so we can be forgiven for our sins and live forever with Him in Eternity.
Jesus said, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only."
When Jesus was at His weakest point here on earth He Relied on The Spirit and The Word of God. He also knew His Purpose!

Do you love being Awarded and Rewarded?
All of us enjoy getting an Award and being Rewarded for being the Best at what we do don't we?
180 SECRET - AWARD - REWARD!
Awards and Rewards are one of the Motivating factors for doing what we do.
"Without Faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He Rewards those who Diligently Seek Him."
Hebrews 11:6, NIV
Does that mean that we Serve God just for the Rewards? No Way!
180 SECRET - AWARD - REWARD!
When we Diligently Seek the Lord our definition of Reward seems to change doesn't it?
Jesus told His followers to ask for anything and He would give it to them. Wow! I would have been asking for Millions of Dollars and a Stable Career.
180 SECRET: Solomon asked for Wisdom which is Applied Knowledge!
Notice who Jesus was talking to when He said this. He was talking to His Followers.
Earlier Jesus said, "if anyone wants to follow me they must Deny themselves and pick up their Cross to follow."
So immediately the definition of Award and Reward changed for His Followers. To get the Award and Reward we must be a follower of Him and to be a Follower of Him we must deny ourselves.

Suddenly what was once important to us as far as Awards and Rewards becomes less Important: Now Eternal things like Serving God and others First becomes our Goal!
What if we started looking through the eyes of Faith in everything we do Right Now?
What if your life became a Total Walk in Faith and you denied your desires for God's desires?
With Faith you will Please God!
With Faith you Know He Exist!
With Faith you may Diligently Seek Him!
With Faith He will Reward you in Everything!

Friends, when God is First Place in your life you can actually Anticipate Great Things!
That doesn't mean your life will be without challenges but it does mean that you will be Rewarded with the Patience and Power to Persevere through the Challenges.
