Team:
Yesterday we talked about a New Beginning. We talked about Cyrus King of Persia and his Leadership. God can use even a pagan king to accomplish His work. EZRA 3:1-4:23
God gave Isaiah a Prophesy 150 years before Cyrus was born that Cyrus would lead Israel to Re-Build the Temple.
"who says of Cyrus, 'He is my shepherd and will accomplish all that I please; he will say of Jerusalem, "Let it be rebuilt," and of the temple, "Let its foundations be laid."' Isaiah 44:28
In Chapter 3 the Foundation of the Temple is laid. The first thing they did was worship and celebrate God's goodness. The older people wept and the younger people celebrated. The older people regretted falling away from God but were happy to start over. The younger people were excited about the possibilities of a Great Future with God.
In Chapter 4 the building stops. We don't know the whole story here but there were jealous threatened people trying to stop the project.
For 15 years the people had to rely on that early foundation that was set for the Temple.
Our lives are like this Temple Project. It is so important to lay a great Spiritual Foundation with the Word, Prayer and Fellowship.
The enemy will come and try to destroy the work God has started in our lives. By having a great Foundation our team, kids family ect.. will withstand the enemy.
The Storms of life will come. When they do will our foundation hold?
"For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ." 1 Corinthians 3:11

Team:
Have you ever wanted a New Beginning? A Fresh Start to a New Season. Everyone is 0-0 with a shot to win the Championship.
Cyrus King of Persia here encourages the team to stay the course, fight through obstacles and trust God. EZRA 1:1-2:70
"This is what Cyrus king of Persia says:
"'The LORD, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and he has appointed me to build a temple for him at Jerusalem in Judah. 3 Any of his people among you may go up to Jerusalem in Judah and build the temple of the LORD, the God of Israel, the God who is in Jerusalem, and may their God be with them. 4 And in any locality where survivors may now be living, the people are to provide them with silver and gold, with goods and livestock, and with freewill offerings for the temple of God in Jerusalem.'" Ezra 1:2-4
A Leader Encourages the Team with the hopes of a Bright Future and a New Beginning.
When Leaders lift people up they perform beyond expectation. When people are encouraged they get strength. Cyrus was one of the greatest leaders ever as he was able to take people that had no hope and rally them to re-build the Temple.
"The emphasis in Ezra and Nehemiah is in trusting God for a New Beginning and Doing His Work - no matter what obstacles and opposition are encountered." Warren W. Wiersbe
Cyrus is leading his team to re-build the Temple. Leaders need to encourage their players to get back in the game.
