Fw: Leaders Make Good Alliances

Team:

Today we learn about a Great Leader named Jehosaphat. Jehosaphat was a great leader in the beginning but then let his guard down and got complacent.
2 CHRONICLES 17:1-18:34

Jehosaphat made a huge mistake. He didn't ask for God's guidance and the enemy Satan took advantage.

Jehosaphat made an alliance with Ahab to go to war with him against Ahab's enemy's.

We need to be careful not to get sucked into someone else's problem where it becomes our problem.

This can destroy us. The enemy uses "nice" people this way to burn them.

This is what happened to Jehosaphat. He got sucked into a war that wasn't his.

Jehosaphat was doing great. Judah was at peace with everyone. God was blessing Judah. Then Jehosaphat wondered off and started hanging out with Ahab.

Jehosaphat's first mistake was, he wondered off and was hanging out with the wrong crowd.

Obviously Jehosaphat was influenced by Ahab. Jehosaphat was suckered into Sympathy and feeling sorry for Ahab.

Ahab was reaping what he sowed and was going down. Jehosaphat had nothing to do with Ahab's follies yet Ahab convinced Jehosaphat that they were in it together.

Because Jehosaphat was in the wrong place with the wrong crowd he was guilty by association.

Many innocent people are convicted and thrown in jail by hanging out with the wrong crowd. You see this with drugs alcohol, gangs ect....

"Perception is Reality"

This happens to us as well. We feel sorry for someone and they drag us into their problem.

Jehosaphat almost lost his kingdom over this unwise decision.

The same is true for us. If we hang out with negative people who are always talking about their problems it will suck the life out of us and we will lose our Winning Attitude.

What is easier? To be pulled into a pool or to pull someone out of a pool?
