Today in the One Year Playbook we see a Great Leader named Uzziah. Uzziah reigned longer than any other King.
The Opportunity of his long reign was to bring people closer to God. However, the people began to rely on Uzziah more than God.
Uzziah realized this and got inflated with
Pride. Uzziah tried to take over the Levite Priesthood.
God puts up with a lot but has no patience for Pride. Uzziah did the same thing Lucifer/ Satan did. He tried to replace God.
Uzziah got leprocy and leprocy got Uzziah. He became isolated and secluded. Uzziah went from everyone bowing down to him to isolation and seclusion.
Leprocy is an example of Sin. Sin always brings isolation and seclusion.
Friends, this is what could happen with success. We need to watch out for complacency and pride.
As Leaders we need to keep focused on God's next Chapter for our lives no matter how much success we have. Any success we have is because God gave us the ability in the first place.
Leaders need to surround themselves with people who will keep them accountable. Not "yes men" but people who will respectively challenge when needed. People who are Strong with God.
Billy Graham is a Great Leader who has been leading people to Christ for 62 years. 1949 in Los Angeles was the first year of his great Leadership throughout the World. He surrounded himself with Strong men that would keep him Accountable at all times.
Great Leaders know the power of Accountability. Great Leaders surround themselves with strong people who have the same character and values.
"Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." Ecclesiastes 4:12
