Fw: Defense Wins Championships

Team:

Have you ever heard the saying, "Defense Wins Championships?"

The Bible tells us to Play Great Defense we must be wearing the Right Uniform.

"Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes." Eph 6:11

One of the Devil's schemes is compromise. A little at a time.

"If we deal with the Devil, we will always be on the losing side."
Greg Laurie

We need to realize only God can deal with the enemy. When Jesus was in the Wilderness He used the Word of God to combat the enemy. Matt 4

"So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." James 4:7

To Play Great Defense we need to "resist" the enemy. The only way to "resist" is to put on the full Armor of God. When we put on our Uniform we are Ready For Battle!

To Win God's Championship we need to play Great Defense.

"Winning isn't everything, but it sure beats anything that comes in second."
Bear Bryant FB Coach Alabama

Let's WIN! Play Great Defense!

Just Go! Win the Day!

Fw: Problems Equal Opportunities

Team:

Have you ever changed your Angle? It's amazing how our perception of things change if we change our Angle and how we see things.

"Is the glass half empty or half full?"

"And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, a host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master, how shall we do? And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha."
2 Kings 6:15-17

Our eyes are the windows of our life. What goes in is what and how we perceive things. What goes in is what comes out.

The Word say's what is in the Heart is what comes out of our mouth. So if we are negative, pessimistic, self doubting and always looking for excuses to escape then chances are we are seeing the wrong things.

Let's learn to Love Problems. Because with every Problem there is an Opportunity.

The following people used Problems as Opportunities.

Moses
David
Esther
Josiah
Nehemiah
The Wright Brothers
Thomas Edison
Bill Gates
Warren Buffet
Ray Kroc
Ben Franklin
Walt Disney
Mother Theresa
Josh Hamilton Catcher Arizona

These people saw an Opportunity with every Problem.

What if we saw everything with Opportunity in it?

What if we looked at a Problem and said,

"What a great Opportunity."

See the Opportunity!

Fw: Leadership that Lifts Up

Team:

The students of Elisha were very excited about their new opportunities. They began to take the first steps (Initiating Leadership) toward achieving their goals. As they were building they had to borrow some equipment.

Right away they were challenged when an unfortunate circumstance tried to take them out of the game. This young man was trying his best and he swung a little too hard and lost the borrowed axhead in the water.

"Oh no, how am I going to repay the person I borrowed it from?"

"And Elisha went with them. They went to the Jordon and began to cut down trees. As one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron axhead fell into the water. "Oh my lord," he cried out, "it was borrowed!" The man of God asked, "Where did it fall?" When he showed him the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it there, and made the iron float."
2 Kings 6:4-6

Sometimes we feel like we are trying our best but for some reason "things keep pulling us down."

Elisha shows us that God is in control of everything (even the law gravity) and can always Turn Things Around. If God can make an iron axhead Arise and Float on Water then God can make us Rise and Float over our circumstances.

Notice the axhead Floated on Water.

God also wants us to Float on Water. The Stick that Elisha threw in the Water is like the Cross. The Cross will always help us Rise out of our Circumstances. Water is the Bible which is God's Word. When we are weighed down by things God will cause us to Rise and then Float.

God initiates the Action by causing us to rise out of our circumstances then we respond by reading His Word Daily to stay afloat and Win the Game.

To stay on top of the Water we need to be Focused on His Word - The Playbook Daily.

One more thing. Notice Elisha did not ridicule, criticise, yell or scream at the Player for the unfortunate mistake. He Encouraged Him and Initiated Action.

That is what God does with us. That is True Leadership.

Finish the Play - Finish Strong!

Just Go! Win the Day!

Fw: Lift Each other up

Team Ponder:

In Exodus 17:11–13, when Israel, under Joshua's leadership, was at war with the Amalekites, Moses, his brother Aaron, and Hur went to the top of the hill. "As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. . . . Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset. So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword."

When we lift each other up we Win!

Most of all we win by Lifting Mom's Arms up when we help.

God Initiated:
"We love because He First loved us."
I John 4:19

God took Action:
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

John tells us that our Great Leader Initiated the Relationship then Paul tells us He took Action.

This is Leadership.

In this case God took the Initiative and then took Action by going after His Goal and Purpose.

This is a great model for us to use.

Initiate:

The Belief - Take Action
The Plan - Take Action
The Desire - Take Action
The Dedication - Take Action
The Goal - Take Action
The Hard Work - Take Action
The Great Attitude - Take Action

Fw: What if ?

Team:

What if this and what if that?

Have you ever felt that way?

Sometimes we get caught up in the "what ifs." When this happens we get Fearful, Timid and we Freeze up.

Do you know that God has given us the Spirit of Power, Love and Self Discipline?

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline"(2 Timothy 1:7, NLT)

God wants us to know he is working in our lives through the Holy Spirit to give us Incredible Power to be Confident and Victorious in our daily lives.

He wants us to know our Future is Great and He is working a Great Plan to Help us Succeed. Jer 29:11

The Spirit of Power in Acts 3 is described as Dynamite in the Greek.

The Spirit of Love is God's Perfect Love which casts out all Fear.

The Spirit Of Self Discipline and a Sound Mind is the Strength to Live for God and follow His Playbook for Life.

The Bible tells us that God wants to show Himself Strong in our Lives.

Live with Confidence today and Cast off all fear.

Fw: God is in this Place!!

Team:

Do you ever feel like you are all alone?

Do you ever feel abandoned?

Do you ever feel you have been forgotten?

Do you feel like you are just another face in a big crowd?

Do you ever feel depressed, discontent distressed, despair, despondent ect..?

Check this out:

Then Jacob woke up from his sleep and exclaimed, "Certainly, the LORD is in this place, and I didn't know it!" Gen 28:16

Do you feel alone?

"God is in this place and I didn't know it."

Do you feel guilty?

"God is in this place and I didn't know it."

Do you feel Anxious?

"God is in this place and I didn't know it."

Do you feel depressed, discontent distressed, despair, despondent ect..?

"God is in this place and I didn't know it."

Friends, God will never leave you or forsake you. After Jacob woke up he felt Abandoned and Left Out.

Jacob was running away from his problems. He had deceived his dad and brother and was running for his life. He was tired and run down. He had no where to go. He was trying to find his uncle's house.

He felt all alone. He felt lonely, guilty, empty and afraid of the future. He felt depressed, discontent distressed, despair, despondent ect..

He passed out and used a rock for a pillow. God visited him in a dream and showed him a Ladder reaching to Heaven and God gave him a Future and a Hope for his Life and the Generations to follow.

He was Afraid and Excited at the same time. In fact the next day he woke up early and went to work on his Dream.

"God is in this place and now I know it."

Friends, sometimes God allows us to get us to a place where we have no other option but to trust Him. This is a great place to be because God is about to provide you with a "Breakthrough."

A Breakthrough is a New Chapter in your life. A place where God is about to do "exceedingly abundantly beyond all we can ask or think." Eph 3:20

You may be at the end of your rope.

"God is in this place and now you can know it."

Read Psalm 46 specifically vs. 10

"Be still and know that I am God."

Be Still! Stop what you are doing. Relax and Know He is God. Find a quiet Spot and just sit and be Still. And Know He is able to anything. "Exceedingly Abundantly beyond all we can ask or think." Eph 3:20

God changed Jacob's name to Israel because Israel means, "God governs."

When God governs our life we can say,

"God is in this place and now I know it."

"Be still and know that He is God."

You are a Champion!

Fw: Be Alert!

Team:

Here is a great reminder from Coach Rogers that we need to be Alert and not get Blindsided.

The most important Player on the offense for a right handed Quarterback is the Left Offensive Tackle. This is the Player that protects the Quarterback's back side. If the Left Tackle misses his block the QB gets wiped out without even knowing it.

Therefore the QB must develop a great deal of Trust in his Left Tackle to be effective. The Left Tackle must accept the responsibility of protecting the QB.

This is why it is so important that we hang around the right people. We protect each other from the enemy. We all have a Blindside. Let's make sure we have the right friends to help us.

Also, we can't do it alone. What if the QB tried to do it alone?

He would be unsure, paranoid, throw interceptions and ultimately lose the game.

By having great friends we will be Positive, and make a huge impact in the game of life.

Be Alert!

BIBLE MEDITATION: "But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation." 1 Thessalonians 5:8

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT: A preacher friend was walking away from another friend when this friend called out to him, "Well, so long! Love God. Hate sin. And watch out for trucks!"

Now, that's good advice. Trucks will hurt you if they hit you. It doesn't matter whether you're saved or lost. We all need to love God. We all need to hate sin.

But I want to tell you we are also human and we need to watch out for the things in life that may hurt us. God has given us the mind of Christ and we need to use that mind (see 1 Corinthians 2:16).

ACTION POINT: Is your head in the clouds today? Are you alert to the things of this world that could harm you? Be sober. Be alert. And watch out for trucks!

Putting Down the Weights Pt 2

Team:

Last Time Coach Rogers showed us how to Win by putting down some Weights.

Review:

2000 years ago they had the Greek Olympic Games. These athletes were very dedicated and very strict on what food they ate, how hard they worked and how much sleep and rest they got. They wanted to Win the Gold Metal.

The same is true in our Spiritual Lives.

Have we ever asked, "is it ok to .... and be on God's Team?

All of us have asked this question.

"Since we are surrounded by so many examples [of faith], we must Get Rid Of everything that slows us down, especially sin that distracts us. We must run the race that lies ahead of us and never give up." Hebrews 12:1

We are in a race. The Crowd is cheering us on. Let's be in a Position to Win!

What things are weighing us down like a weight causing us to run slower?

It could be doubtful unsure negative thoughts saying I can't.

Get Rid Of everything that slows us down

It might be Fear or Peer Pressure

Get Rid Of everything that slows us down

It could be Pot, Drinking and Drugs.

Get Rid Of everything that slows us down

It could be a sexual relationship outside of marriage.

Get Rid Of everything that slows us down
(Wait till you get married)

The Question is: Are we brought under the power of these things?

"All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any."
1 Corinthians 6:12

All of these things can cause Guilt and Slow us down with negative thoughts.

Then it is a vicious recorder that satan uses to remind us.

Remember though God Forgives and we can move on and still Win! Jer 29:11

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." I John 1:9

David took off all the Weight King Saul gave him so he could Run to Win to beat Goliath and the Philistines.

What "Weight" is holding us back?

God wants the Best for us and He knows these things trip us up just like they would trip up an Athlete Competing for the Gold Metal.

You are a Champion!

Finish Strong!

Putting Down the Weights

BIBLE

MEDITATION: "All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any."
1 Corinthians 6:12

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT: There are certain weights that an athlete chooses to lay aside. They are not bad for other people, but they are bad for the athlete. In the spiritual realm, it is the same for Christians. Paul tells us, "all things are not expedient." The word "expedient" is similar to the word "expedition."

You see, Christians are going somewhere, and if something doesn't speed us along the way, then it is excess baggage and we need to get rid of it.

ACTION POINT: Ask God today, "Are there legitimate, lawful things in my life that are keeping me from running the race?" It might be a hobby, friendship, recreational sport, or a cabin in the mountains. It is not bad; it just keeps you from maximizing your life for the Lord Jesus Christ. You must lay it aside.

The Crowd is Cheering for you! Part 3

Team:

Hebrews 11-12:1 is the Experience of those before us. They all came out Victorious in their Trials and we will too. The Victory was in their Faith.

We have to have Faith that God knows best. Sometimes the Victory isn't apparent to us until some connecting circumstances are revealed later.

This is where Faith comes in to play. We know the Switch (the Playbook Bible) turns on the Light. Now that the Light is turned on we respond to our Faith.

Remember we have to actively touch the Switch or the light won't respond. The same is true about our Faith we must make the move to turn on the Switch and Read and Hear the Word of God Daily.

"And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them."
Romans 8:28

God has it all under control Friends. We must put our Faith in His Plan for our Life. God will go before us and Orchestrate events before we get there so when we get there we just Turn On the Switch and the Light Goes On.

If Money were not an Object what would You Spend Your Life Doing? (When you answer this question you have to take you out of it).

I can't wait to hear the Answers.

Whatever your answer is is what you should be doing with your life either Full Time or Part Time. What ever it is spend time Perfecting it and moving it forward one step at a time.

God Put you here for a reason. Through difficult tribulations and trials we find out what we are made of and God Brings our Gift out of us. Sometime we have to be squeezed to get the Real Purpose out of us.

No matter what Friends God has an Incredible Plan for You. Now it is time to Decide to Execute the Plan.

Fw: The Crowd is Cheering for You #2

Team:

Last time we talked about the Crowd Cheering you on and we talked about Faith:

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1

When we turn on a light how do we know the Switch is going to Activate the Light?

You can't see Electricity right? You believe the switch will turn on the light because you have done it 1000's of times.

Faith Grows by Experience? Our Faith is either getting Bigger or Smaller. It is either getting Stronger or Weaker.

We have to keep doing our daily Faith Workout so that Our Faith will Grow.

We need to Build up our Faith Experiences with God. We do this by reading and hearing about people before us that are in the Playbook. These are the People God used to further His Purpose.

Then we put our Faith into Action by Serving other People First. By being a Servant first you gain the Trust of others. This is True Leadership!

Now God Responds and starts to do Mini Miracles in our lives everyday.

For example: Teammates showing up at the Hospital to pray for a fellow teammate who was in an accident and now in the ICU fighting for his life.

These Teammates acted out their Faith and Belief.

This is the Faith Workout:

"So then faith comes by Hearing, and Hearing by the word of God."
Romans 10:17

The Crowd in Hebrews 11-12:1 had great Faith, Believed in God and Trusted Him for the outcome.

Because of their Experiences our Faith can Grow and we can be Confident God has Great plans for us.

"We Walk by Faith not by sight!" 2Corinthians 5:7

Sometimes the Victory isn't apparent to us until some connecting circumstances are revealed later.

"Faith isn't the ability to believe long and far into the misty future. It's  simply taking God at His Word and taking the next step."
                                                                   - Joni Erickson Tada

Let's Start Growing our Faith Today one Day at a time. Let's gain one new Experience everyday. That is 365 in a year.

Now that is Faith that is Growing and Faith that is getting Stronger.

By doing this your confidence in God will Fly through the roof.

You are a Champion!

Just Go! Win the Day!

Fw: The House that Stands Forever

Team:

Here is a Great Message from Coach MacIntosh on Teamwork. Mark 3:23-25

Friends we are One Team. We cannot be divided. This is important at Home with our Families, our Teams in our Business Careers and on The Playing Field.

Jesus said, "Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." Matt 7:24-25

The Rock is Jesus. The Playbook is His Word.

Phil 4:13

------ Email ------
So He called them to Himself and said to them in parables: "How can Satan cast out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand."
Mark 3:23-25

If a kingdom is divided, it's not going to be a kingdom very long. If a house is divided, where the husband and the wife are fighting, divorce could split the house. If a friendship goes sour, it leads to division--a parting of the ways. Division refers to something that was once whole, but is now split up. I think we've all experienced it in one way or another, whether in our relationships, our families, or our businesses. And more often than not, it hurts! Separation is painful. Jesus says here that where there is division, things fall apart.

As Christians, we must rely on each other; we are to love and serve each other so that we can function as a unified body for the glory of God. But Satan thrives on separating us from each other; he is the ultimate divider of our relationships, our families, our communities, our nation, and our world. And he knows exactly what Jesus is saying here: If we as Christians are divided, Satan wins. But God will have the last say in all of this: Satan is ultimately the one who will be divided! He will be cast into darkness, eternally separated from God and His people. Satan may be laughing now, but his end is near.

So, while we're here on earth until Jesus takes us home, don't allow Satan to separate you from your spouse or family. Satan is angry with you and will attempt everything he can to divide your home. Trust in the Lord and in His Word. Keep your prayer time and the reading of the Word as the highest priority for your family. While a house divided cannot stand, the opposite is true: a house united, together with Christ Jesus, stands forever!

Fw: God Smiles When We Trust Him

Team:

We have been talking about the Crowd Cheering you on. We have also been talking about Faith.

Here Coach Rick Warren shows how Noah put his Faith into Action.

When we put our Faith into Action Everyone Smiles and Cheers especially God.

God used Noah to save future generations. Noah had faith and was obedient to God.

The Bible says "A cheerful heart is good medicine." Proverbs 17:22

God Smiles When We Trust by Rick Warren

"By faith, Noah built a ship in the middle of dry land. He was warned about something he couldn't see, and acted on what he was told …. As a result, Noah became intimate with God." Hebrews 11:7 (MSG)

You believe God will keep his promises, help you with problems, and do the impossible when necessary.

Imagine this scene: One day God comes to Noah and says, "I'm disappointed in human beings. In the entire world, no one but you thinks about me. But Noah, when I look at you, I start smiling. I'm pleased with your life, so I'm going to flood the world and start over with you and your family. I want you to build a giant ship that will save you and the animals."

There were three problems that could have caused Noah to doubt:

1) Noah had never seen rain because, prior to the flood, God irrigated the earth from the ground up;

2) Noah lived hundreds of miles from the nearest ocean;

3) There was the problem of rounding up all the animals and then caring for them.
But Noah trusted God completely, and that made God smile.

Trusting God completely means having faith that God knows what is best for your life. You expect him to keep his promises, help you with problems, and do the impossible when necessary.

Trusting is an act of worship.

Just as parents are pleased when children trust them, your faith makes God happy.

The Bible says, "Without faith it is impossible to please God" (Hebrews 11:6 NIV).

In what areas of your life do you need to trust God completely?
