GOODBYE CALVARY'S ROSE

TEAM 180:

GOODBYE CALVARY'S ROSE

Chuck Smith made Calvary Chapel The Desired Place and House of the LORD for thousands of people!

Chuck made His Sanctuary a Place to Inquire of the Lord with no shame or guilt!

"Only ONE THING have I Desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may Dwell in the House of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his Temple." Psalm 27:4

GOODBYE CALVARY'S ROSE

Goodbye Calvary's Rose
May you ever Grow in our hearts
You were the Grace that placed itself
Where lives were torn apart

You Called out to our Country
And you Whispered to those in pain
Now you belong to Heaven
And the Stars spell out your name

And it seems to me you Lived your life
Like a Candle in the Wind
Never Fading with the sunset when the rain set in

And your Footsteps will always fall here
Along Huntington's sandy shore
Your candle's burned out long before
Your legend ever more

Loveliness we've lost
These empty days without Your Smile
This Torch we'll always carry
For our Nation's Godly Child

And even though we Try
The truth brings us to Tears
All our words cannot Express
The Joy you brought us through the years

Goodbye Calvary's Rose
May you ever Grow in our hearts
You were the Grace that placed itself
Where lives were torn apart

Goodbye Calvary's Rose
From a Country lost without your soul
Who'll miss the Wings of your Compassion
More than you'll ever know.....

180 ACTION - GOD WANTS TO SPEND TIME WITH YOU!

ACTION 180:

Have you ever said things like this?

"Sometimes I just don't understand why life seems to be such a challenge!"

"I'm a Victim - Why Me?"
"Doesn't anyone understand?"

180 ACTION - GOD WANTS TO SPEND TIME WITH YOU!

"Come now, let us Reason together or settle the matter," says the Lord.
"Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool."
Isaiah 1:18

Friend, sometimes things happen just because we live in a fallen world. There are also things that happen to us because of decisions that we make.

God didn't make us robots. He gave us free choice to choose His Plan or another plan.

In 700 BC Israel was in Dire Straits. The Lord was Inviting His friends to meet up and discuss the decisions they had been making.

- "How's it working out for you?"

- "Is there anything you could change?"

- "How can I Help you Win?"

The Good News is God will Never give up on us. God wants to:

Reason With Us!
Settle The Matter!
Develop A Strategy To Win!

"People don't care how much you know till they know how much you care!" Zig

Whether we are a victim of a fallen world or we made some unwise decisions the answer is the same:

GOD WANTS TO GO TO SPEND TIME WITH YOU!

Just Go 180!

TEAM 180,

When was the last time you really Rested?

How do you get Rest? We live in a very fast paced society where everyone is racing and hurrying to Rest.

THE REST IS UP TO HIM!

We work 51 weeks a year so we can Rest one week on vacation.

Paul was a very hard worker. Before he knew Jesus he was a very angry young man. Jesus asked Paul why he was fighting against Him:

"You are fighting a battle you can't win Paul!"
THE REST IS UP TO HIM!

Paul was burnt out and Jesus knew it!

Why was Paul so burnt out? Because he was going against God's Plan.

Paul's mind was like a Hamster Wheel of anger, fear, resentment, negativity, doubt, self righteousness, hate etc....

"Now we who have Believed - Enter that Rest..." (Hebrews 4:3, NIV)

THE REST IS UP TO HIM!

Friend, are you fighting against God's plan for your life? Do you also have a Hamster wheel of guilt and resentment?

I have Great News for you! God has a great plan for you!

Jesus met Paul on the road to Damascus. Jesus wants to meet you on your Road or Journey also.

Paul Hit bottom on that road and God changed his life. Paul said:

- "Who are you Lord?"
- "What do you want me to do?"

This is when and where Paul "Entered That Rest!"

When we Believe and ask these same two questions to Jesus we will also "Enter That Rest!"

The Rest that Paul received was a Rest that Enabled him to do "All Things through Christ who gave him Strength!"

This Rest is also Available to us. All we have to do ask two simple questions:

- "Who are you Lord?"
- "What do you want me to do?"

THE REST IS UP TO HIM!

Just Go 180! Win The Day!

TEAM 180:

Sometimes it is hard to choose our friends isn't it? It is very important though isn't it?

CHOOSE YOUR FRIENDS CAREFULLY

Some things we may want to consider when choosing our friends are:

- Goal Oriented
- Purpose Driven
- Have a Clear Vision of their Future
- Similar Values
- Integrity
- Work Ethic

"The righteous should choose his friends carefully, for the way of the wicked leads them astray." (Proverbs 12:26)

We will always be in an environment either in school of career where we will be surrounded by all types of people.

When you ask God for Wisdom He will guide you by His Holy Spirit with your decisions.

Listening and Executing on the Advice of the Holy Spirit is also a Choice.

Choose Wisely my Friends!

351 Prophecies Fulfilled in Jesus Christ! TEAM 180: Here is indisputable proof that Jesus Christ of Nazareth is who He Claimed to be. It is beyond comprehension when we realize that 66 books - written by 40 authors over 1000's of years - and recently discovered in 1948 in the dead sea scrolls - the US Constitution was written by men who believed this message and 50 percent of the constitution is from scripture. There were a few atheist but even they agreed that the Torah was the best way for us to govern and be Free! Haym Solomon from Israel gave George Washington 3 Trillion Dollars in today's currency and died for what he believed in penny less. In fact Peter in the Bible, a fisherman who followed Jesus said, "hey I know you think we make these fables up on long fishing trips! I get it! So if you don't want to believe us (even though all of us will eventually die for what we believe in
) then look at the 66 books written by 40 authors that predicted not 1 but 351 prophecies about where Jesus would be born, His life and how He would die and why: Isaiah 53" Peter called this "the more sure Word of Prophesy!" There is not one prophesy ever predicted by any other person or or fulfilled: if there is one show me - just one: I AM PLACING MY BET ON JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH : Just Go! Win The Day!!! TEAM 180:

How many times have you finished a conversation and said,

"Oh... One more thing.... "

Have you ever been in a hurry and someone says that to you? Maybe you were on the phone or leaving the house and late for a meeting?

180 SECRET - OH... ONE MORE THING!

Whatever the situation is the One More Thing is important to the person saying it. Sometimes it is the most Important part of the whole conversation.

"One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple." Psalm 27:4

180 SECRET - OH... ONE MORE THING!

This is how it was it was for David. It is so cool that we get to look into the mind of King David as he is pondering his future.

Verse 4 just pops out in the middle of this text like God was sending him a text message say, "One More Thing David!"

Friends, Today what is God's "One More Thing" for you today? For David it was a much needed pause in his mind as he was thinking of how God took care of him when the enemy was seeking to destroy him.

DAVID WENT FROM HIS ENEMIES SEEKING HIM TO HIM SEEKING GOD!

God is reminding us that there is One Thing that will get your mind into Possibility Thinking when everything seems to be crashing down.

180 SECRET - OH... ONE MORE THING!

When David got that text message from God his mind was in a hurry and he was late for an appointment but that ONE MORE THING is the ONE THING that turned his thinking into Possibility Thinking!

STOP. AND PONDER!

God has One more Thing for you today. Desire it! Seek it! Dwell in it! His House or your house?

David's One More Thing is also our One More Thing!

180 SECRET - OH... ONE MORE THING!

Dwell with Him and Behold His Beauty All Day! If this is all you do everything else will be taken care of!

Just Go 180!

Rick

PS - Check out the whole passage:

Psalm 27:1  The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

4 One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.

5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.

7 Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.

8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek.

9 Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.

10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.

11 Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.

12 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.

13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

Have you ever followed the Wind?

When I was a kid I followed the wind to fly my kite. When I went sailing we followed the wind to help guide our sail on the sail boat

180 SECRET - THE WIND - THE SPIRIT

In football we picked our final quarter based on the wind condition and which way it was blowing.

We follow the Direction of the Wind Playing Golf, Tennis, LaCross, Soccer, etc....

Wind also affects the Oceans and Currents, Air patterns for Airplane travel.

Wind affects everything we do.

180 SECRET - THE WIND - THE SPIRIT

2000 years ago Jesus had all of this figured out! One night Jesus was asked about being Born Again:

Jesus said, "The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit." John 3:8

Think of all the ways the Wind Blows. You can't see it and you don't know whether it is coming or going but you believe it is there right? Why?

Because you see the affect it has on the trees, plants, oceans, mountains, etc...
In fact it affects almost everything we do.

180 SECRET - THE WIND - THE SPIRIT

The Power of the Wind is very Important. When there is a Fire the Wind causes the Fire to Spread Faster.

When there is Rain the Wind causes Hurricanes to swirl with Intensity.

When it is Snowing the Power of the Wind can cause an Intense Blizzard.

"The Pessimist complains about the Wind; the Optimist Expects it to change; the Realist Adjusts the Sails."
William Arthur Ward

180 SECRET - THE WIND - THE SPIRIT

Friends, what if we looked for the Spirit of God the same way a Sailor does to our advantage?

What if we were Optimistic and Real at the same time?

What if we were to Expect Greatness but were Realistic about the situation at hand and Adjusted the Sails.

Great Sailors like Hall of Fame Captain Dennis Conner Expects Greatness but also knows that Adjusting to the Wind and its Power is the Secret to Success.

180 SECRET - THE WIND - THE SPIRIT

"My goal in sailing isn't to be brilliant or flashy in individual races, just to be consistent over the long run."
Dennis Conner Hall of Fame Captain of America's Cup

Dennis Conner knows the Power of the Wind and how to Adjust to Maximize Its Potential.
180 SECRET - THE WIND - THE SPIRIT

In Genesis 1 it says the Spirit of God was hovering over the Waters of the earth. Hovering in the Hebrew language implies Intensity and Purpose.

The Same Spirit of God that had Intense Purpose for the Planet Earth in Genesis 1 has the same Intense Purpose for your life!

Today, let's look for the Spirit of God in everything we do! Let's plan out how to make the best use of God's Spirit in our lives by Serving Others First and Encouraging everyone around us. Dennis Conner won America's Cup four Times because he knew the Power of Wind and How to apply it.

When we Realize the Power of the Spirit in our lives and Execute with Confidence, Intensity and Purpose no one will stop us!

Let's Win The Spirit Cup!

Just Go 180!
Keep being Filled with the Spirit!

TEAM 180:

Do you have a busy mind with millions of things to do?

Are you paralyzed and in a trance anxious about everything?

Do you Replay unfortunate things in your mind over and over trying to change the outcome?

Jesus was greeted by Mary and Martha as they invited Him over to their house for a meal.

A BUSY MIND IS LIKE A BLINDFOLD!

Mary was hanging out with the Creator of the Universe asking Him all kinds of questions relating to Life and Purpose.

Martha was busy and didn't have time to sit and hang out with Jesus. Martha was so blinded by her busy mind she didn't have time for the Peace.

Martha scolded Mary and said, "Jesus I'm doing all the work here and Mary you are just sitting there."

A BUSY MIND IS LIKE A BLINDFOLD!

Jesus said," Martha your mind is too busy! Relax and hang out with Mary and Me and learn how to have Peace in your Mind!"

A BUSY MIND IS LIKE A BLINDFOLD!

Friends, there is a time to be busy and there is a time to Relax with The Prince of Peace!

Jesus shared with them that this life is short and Eternity Starts Now!

Today focus on Jesus the Prince of Peace and Remember that Eternity Starts Now! God is way bigger then your circumstances.

A BUSY MIND IS LIKE A BLINDFOLD!

A Busy mind of the Coulda Woulda Shoulda's paralyzes us. Over Analysis will cause Paralysis!

Be Anxious for nothing but in all things let your request be known to God and the Peace of God which passes all understanding will Guard your heart....

... Finally my friends... What ever is True Think on those things.... Phil 4:6-8

Get rid of the What If's and trying to change the outcome! Instead think about the What If's and Picture yourself Accomplishing all that God has for you.

"Come unto Me all you that are Weary with so many issues and I will give you Rest."
Jesus
