Team 180:

Have you ever been stuck in a situation when you wanted to quit because you were sick of the same old routine day in and day out?

Maybe it is the day to day chores and the trash is full in the kitchen again. You take it out because you know no one else will.

Or how about the empty TP role? "Really! No one can help out and volunteer to change the TP role?"

Sometimes we are in situations where we feel like there is no purpose for being here.

Maybe it is your career and it seems like you are going nowhere.

Maybe it is a Relationship that is barely surviving.

Friends, sometimes life gets boring. When it does we need to find a way to Cut Off boredom before boredom cuts us off.

So what do you do?

Jesus was talking with His Team that in Revelation 2. It was a Team that was just going through the motions with no real purpose. A Team that was emotionally bored.
On the surface the Team seemed Motivated and Driven. They were Winning every game but underneath they were slandering each other, using each other and taking advantage of one another.

On Sundays they would smile and shake hands but during the week they couldn't wait to talk about all of the latest gossip.

Jesus gave them a Strategy to Win! Jesus knew the people were caught in the mundane boring trap of Success and Complacency.

Jesus also knew He needed to get the Team kick started again.

- Rethink Where you are- Where you're going - Remember what Motivated you at first
- Repent - do a 180 and Change Directions!

- Repeat those Habits that Motivated you
- Refocus on God and Others.
- Re-energized yourself with God The. Spirit. Rev 2 / Zech 4 / Matt 22:36-40

"Therefore Remember from where you have fallen, and Repent and Repeat the deeds you did at first; Revelation 2

These six RE'S need to be Remembered when we have to much Time on our hands so we do fall prey to Complacency, Boredom, Gossip and Backbiting.

When this happens we are Useless! We are Frozen! We are Depressed! We want to Escape into anything and everything that will relieve our Stress and Anxiety.

It is when You feel Trapped. Bored. Wasted. Stuck in a rut - and the only difference between a Rut and a Grave is the rut is open at both ends!

You suddenly become undecided, confused as to your next step.

You start to believe playing the game becomes more important than achieving results.

How do you get out of a Rut?

Abraham was stuck in a Rut like many of us. Out of all the people in his country God chose Abram to start a new Nation.

Abraham was reluctant. He kept procrastinating and putting off his decision. He was in a Rut.

After 25 years Abram finally left with his wife and family.

Why? He saw the corrupt dealings, pagan idolatry, human sacrifice, witchcraft etc..
Abram finally had to make a Choice:

- Am I for God or against Him?

- Abram had the Gift of Desperation!

"The Gift of Desperation brings out the Best in us if we allow God to Perform in our lives."

Abraham left not knowing where to go in Hebrews 11 we learn how Abraham got out of his Rut by using the Gift of Desperation:

- Abraham went on a journey looking for a city who's Foundation and Maker is God.

- Abraham determined that he was not going to be stuck in his father's homeland any longer.

- Abraham became a Pilgrim and went from living in one mansion his whole life to living in tents.

- Abraham became Mobile and was Willing to go anywhere God led him.

After 25 years Abraham didn't say,
"I'm going to be happy just as soon as:

- I find someone

- I figure it out

- I sell my house

- My 401K has enough money

It took Abraham a lifetime to learn all of the Secrets God had for him and in the end he realized he always had God's Secret in his Life but didn't know it.

God is the Revealer of the Deep Secrets in our lives. God knows what Potential we have and spends each day trying pull it out of us.

The next time you feel yourself in a Rut do what Abraham did:

Embrace Change as a Challenge.

Change your Routine.

Take One step at a time.

Change your Company and the people you associate with.

Change your Huddle.
