Fw: Fear Not

Team:

Today's Coach is Adrian Rogers. He shows us how a Back-up Quarterback named Joshua comes into the biggest game of his life.

Joshua needs to come in the game for Moses. They are in the final week of the Season. They need a Big Victory to get into the Playoffs.

Do you ever get Worried and Fear?

"The fear of man brings a snare: but whoever puts his trust in the LORD shall be safe." Proverbs 29:2

"Fear Is Like A Bear. Sometimes You Pin The Bear And Other Times The Bear Pins You ---- Don't get Pinned."

" You can't let it get Control of you, you have to Control it by getting in Front of it." Jamie Coston ev3

"Courage is Resistance to Fear -
Mastery of fear - not Absence of Fear."
Mark Twain

Coach Jesus said in John 16:33

"I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have Peace. In this world you will have trouble. But be of Good Courage! I have Overcome the World."

"Whenever you are asked if you can do a job, tell 'em, 'Certainly I can!' Then get busy and find out how to do it."
-in other words: Get in the Game
Theodore Roosevelt

"I never doubted I could do this, I just always wondered if I'd get a chance." Aaron Rogers Quarterback Packers

Fear Not / Adrian Rogers

"Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with the whithersoever thou goest." Joshua 1:9

The devil is the sinister minister of fear. When he clamps his icy fingers of fear on your heart, do you become afraid of what he'll do to you if you take a stand for God?

Don't be afraid. Fear is an insult to God who said, "I will be with thee." Fear will destroy you.

Are you a worrywart?

One lady said, "Don't tell me it does no good to worry. Most of the things I worry about never come to pass."

Be not dismayed. God will take care of you.

Ask the Holy Spirit to show you what your fears are, then confess them as sin.

Repent, then reach up and take hold of His right hand that is outstretched to sustain you and give you the victory!

Fw: A Player Agent/ Defense Attorney

Team:

Here is a Great message from Quarterback Adrian Rogers.

In the NFL the players have Agents to help them Negotiate Contracts.

You have the best Agent in the Universe to Negotiate your Contract.

God has a Contract that Jesus negotiated for you. Now it's up to you to sign it.

The Season is Starting. The Team needs you to be in the Huddle.

Sign the Contract.

There is a Huge Signing Bonus!

"There comes a special moment in everyone's life, a moment for which that person was born. That special opportunity, when he seizes it, will fulfill his mission – a mission for which he is uniquely qualified. In that moment, he finds greatness. It is his finest hour."

Sir Winston Churchill

1 John 2:1 - "My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous."

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT: The way to deal with your sins is for you to confess – that means, you are to begin by agreeing with God as to what He says about your sin. You need to also confidently deal with your sin. Now, what do I mean by that? You have your own attorney when you go into the judge's chambers for adjudication. According to God's Word, you have an Advocate, which is another name for attorney. The devil is the prosecuting attorney who points the accusing finger at us and says, "Look at him!" And Jesus, the defense attorney, stands by our side and says, "But Father, look at Me. I shed My blood for him." Because Jesus died, our debt is paid. Hallelujah! Though our sins are as scarlet, He will wash them white as snow!

ACTION POINT: Praise God today that your defense attorney is the Judge's Son!

Fw: The Family Playbook Joshua 8:35

Team:

Here is a great message forwarded by Tom Oneill from Pastor and Offensive Lineman Jon Courson.

The Offensive Linemen are so important and are the ones in the Trenches Protecting the Quarterback.

Here we see a great way for all of us to Protect our families.

Younger people encourage your parents to know the Playbook.

Parents go over the Plays in the Playbook with your children and their friends.

Let the stories of the Playbook constantly be coming out of our mouths.

"If you continually ask yourself, What's important now?, you won't waste time on the trivial."
Lou Holtz Former Head Coach Notre Dame

"Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path."
Psalm 119:105

It can start with a TXT message with a verse everyday. Then a prayer at dinner with our family (Huddle) to thank God for our food.

Now - Just Go! Finish Strong!

Coach Jon's Game Plan:

There was not a word of all that Moses commanded, which Joshua read not before all the congregation of Israel, with the women, and the little ones, and the strangers that were conversant among them.
Joshua 8:35

At the beginning of their conquest of the Promised Land, all of Israel and those in their company stopped to hear the Word.
Have your kids heard the Word?

The tremendous task before us is to read and discuss the Word of God with our kids over and over, day after day.

"We don't have time," you might say.

"There are battles to fight, wars to win, Little League games to play, staff meetings to attend."

Joshua could have easily said the same thing. But he realized that if we're not talking to our kids about the Word of God, then we're missing the mark completely.

And the stakes are getting higher because we're living in the last days. Dark will get darker and the dangers will become greater.

Mom and Dad, if you care about your son or daughter, you will take this responsibility seriously. It is a big mistake to assume our kids know the Word.

That's why Joshua said, "I know you're anxious to conquer the Land. I know you can't wait to drive out the enemy so you can settle in, grow your crops, and enjoy your family. But we're stopping here and now to go over the Word again."

The Word will be plastered on the wall of your soul and imprinted in your mind if you will take the time to review it time after time after time.

Live long enough, and you'll find yourself in a thin hospital gown, crawling up on the table for some kind of test procedure. You'll wait by the phone for the results, trying not to worry but unable to keep from wondering what you'll do if it's bad.

Is there a game plan for this kind of situation?

Let's just say that one of the blessings of living in daily fellowship with God is developing a settled heart. You realize your salvation is accomplished and complete. You recognize how many things are beyond your control. And you begin to understand that trusting him is a lot more effective than fretting and losing sleep. He takes care of you either way. So why waste the nervous energy?

Inner peace is not a formula. It's not treating God like a good-luck charm. It's about spending time reading His Word. Praying when you could be listening to sports radio. Talking to him instead of talking to yourself. Relationship, not ritual. Try it consistently for a month, and you'll look back a few weeks from now amazed at the amount of perspective and security he's given you. You'll be more like a man who has "no fear of bad news," whose "heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord" (Psalm 112:7).

Want to be ready for that next trip to the doctor? Then run your laps, watch your portions . . . and start relying on the Great Physician to get you through each day.

Pray this prayer: Lord, I waste so much of my time worrying about things you're already taking care of. I long for a settled, peaceful heart—one that's ready for trouble because I've been trusting you all along.

Love Worth Finding Daily Devotional
Adrian Rogers Complete Payment for Your Sin
Devotional thought from the messages of Adrian Rogers
BIBLE MEDITATION:
Romans 3:25 - “Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.”

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:
Propitiation is a big word that means satisfaction. Because God is a holy God, His anger and justice burns against sin. And He has sworn that sin will be punished.

There must be a satisfactory payment for sin.  But God said, “If I punish man for his sin, man will die and go to hell. On the other hand, if I don’t punish man for his sin, My justice will never be satisfied.”

The solution? God said that He would become our substitute. He would take the sin of mankind upon Himself in agony and blood – a righteous judgment and substitute for sin.

His wrath burned out on the cross when His only Son died as man’s propitiation for sin. And this is love (see 1 John 4:10).

ACTION POINT:
Question: What can you bring Jesus today to repay Him for what He has done for you? Answer: Nothing could suffice. But “Love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my ALL!”

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

Fw: Intentness- David - Cause

Team:

Today's Quarterback is David in the Bible.

David said:

"Is there no "Cause" in Israel?"
1 Samuel 17

Young David said this when he saw how Israel was afraid of one Man.

David was small in stature but he was called by God.

What is a" Cause?"

A "Cause" causes you to be Sold Out!

"Cause" is something so important you will lay down your life for your Teammates.

"Cause" is something that will drive you to work Harder and Train Harder than you ever have.

"Cause" is:

W - Work Hard - leads to
E - Endurance - leads to
D - Dedication - leads to
D - Desire - leads to

B- Belief in your "Cause"

David was Prepared to be Prepared. He had done all these things and as a result killed an attacking Bear and Lion to save his Sheep two different times.

David Knew that God had helped him before and will Again and Again and Again.

David's past Accomplishments with God gave him Confidence with Undeniable "Cause" for the Future of Israel.

So David was Prepared. Preparation is good but being Prepared to be Prepared is a Whole Different Level.

David was Prepared to be Prepared which gave him "Cause.

"Cause" is something beyond you that only Partnering with God will Work.

"Cause" is immovable Faith that the "Cause" is so important that the "Cause" is your Destiny.

The "Cause" Defines who you are.

If there is no "Cause" we are week.

"Without a Vision the People Perish."

With "Cause" we move Mountains.

What is your "Cause" today?????

Why?

- it's God's plan for your life.

- it is why you were placed here on. Earth.

Give everything you have right now in your current Cause. David was not looking for a future Cause when he prepared to be prepared for the Lion and Bear.

By taking care of the Now the Future will take care of itself. When you get to the future the past Causes will make you Prepared to be Prepared for the Future Cause.

You may be a Student/ Athlete now but when you apply your Cause right now you will be "Prepared to be Prepared" for the Cause of your Future.

Your Foundation will be Strong because you built your Cause on The Rock.

Jesus was Prepared to be Prepared. He had a Cause when he Won the Victory on the Cross for you.

Also, David felt like he and God deserved to Win because of being "Prepared to Prepare."

When you are prepared you feel like God is in Control and the Victory is yours. You feel like you deserve to Win.
Remember the 5 P's:

"Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance."

"Proper Planning Predicts Perfect Performance."

So what is your Cause Now?

Why?

Because God made You to WIN NOW!!!!!

David brought a Cause to Israel.

What is your Cause?

Fathers - is there no Cause to Fight for the Spiritual Life of your Family?

Mothers - is there no Cause to Bring your Children up Knowing God?

Children - is there no Cause to Fight for The Spiritual Life of your Brothers and Sisters?

Athletes - is there no Cause to go out and be a Light to the World with your God given Talent?

Students - is there no Cause to use your wisdom to prove to the World there is a God who loves them?

Pastors - is there no Cause to Preach the Word?

NOW - JUST GO!!!

God Bless,
Rick

Fw: Toughness

Team:

Today Coach Greg Laurie talks about Toughness.

What does it take to Win?

You must be Tough Physically and Mentally. This applies to every area of our life.

"If we practice soft we will play soft."

"I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified."

Paul the Apostle - 1 Corinthians 9:27

"Football (Life) isn't a Contact sport, it's a Collision sport. Dancing is a contact sport."

Vince Lombardi Head Coach Green Bay Packers

Since we need to be Tough both Physically and Mentally, how do we do it?
Linebacker / Tight End Josh Ponder says:

"But those who Wait on the lord shall Renew their Strength; they shall mount up with Wings like Eagles, they shall Run and not be weary, they shall Walk and not faint" Isaiah 40:31

"We need to have the title "ISRAEL"......
GOD GOVERNS OUR LIFE."

Center/Linebacker Doug Broussard

Stand Your Ground

When the messengers of John had departed, He began to speak to the multitudes concerning John: "What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?" — Luke 7:24

A traveler who was visiting a logging area in the northwestern United States watched with great interest as a lumberjack walking alongside a mountain stream periodically jagged his sharp hook into a log and separated it from the others.

The traveler asked the logger what he was doing.

"Well, these logs may all look alike to you," the logger said, "but I recognize that some of them are quite different.

The ones that I let pass are from trees that grow in a valley, where they are always protected from the storms. The grain on those logs is rather course.

But the logs I pull aside come from high
up in the mountains, where they are beaten by strong winds from the time they are quite small.

This TOUGHENS the trees and gives them a fine grain. We save these for choice work. They are too good to be used for ordinary lumber."

Maybe you are facing winds of adversity right now, and you wonder why. Could it be that God is saving you for a choice work? Could it be that He is allowing you to go through hardship so you will be able to do something unique that He has in store for you?

There are also winds of temptation that blow in our lives. These hot winds of enticement come out of nowhere.

Then there are the winds of compromise. Like soft summer breezes, these winds can lull us into doing the wrong thing. We need to stand our ground.

We need to hold our course. Whatever we are facing, we don't have to face it alone. There is a God who cares. We need to trust Him. And we need to remember that He will never give us more than we can handle.
