DANIEL 180: THE POWER OF A SPONSOR!

What do the Ancient Scrolls say?

"Then Moses called Joshua and said to him in the presence of all the people of Israel, "Be determined and confident; you are the one who will lead these people to occupy the land that the Lord promised to their ancestors. The Lord himself will lead you and be with you. He will not fail you or abandon you, so do not lose courage or be afraid." Deut 31:7-8

When I was Powerless, Codependent and trying to escape into substance I would Fear the unknown. Now that I have the Power of the Holy Spirit I don't fret the unknown I embrace it. This is a significant victory in my life as I learn to trust my Redeemer daily.

Now I realize that Joshua was no different then me. He was also Fearful of the unknown and Moses knew it. This is why his friend and mentor Moses reassures Joshua with the Promises his Redeemer made years earlier.

This verse in the last part of the Torah in the Ancient Scrolls also tells me how Important it is to have a Mentor or as some call it a Sponsor. Moses Sponsored Joshua every day for 40 years. For 40 years Joshua was in constant communication with Moses as Moses took on Responsibility for Joshua.

What is a Sponsor? A Sponsor is somebody that takes Responsibility for another: somebody who takes Responsibility for me, especially during my education of Recovery, Apprenticeship or Probation.

This is a Secret the Ancient Scrolls uses over and over again over thousands of years by 40 different authors inspired by my Redeemer. Every great leader in the Ancient Scrolls had a Sponsor.

I must embrace this Secret of Sponsorship as it is key to my accountability in my pursuit of Recovery. Without a Sponsor Joshua would have been lost along with the rest of Israel.

Just like Joshua embraced his sponsor Moses as the one of his keys to success I must find a sponsor and do likewise.

Moses told Joshua to rely on his Redeemer as his Sponsor in his venture in Faith. Moses told Joshua that his Redeemer will go before him to Prepare the way of the unknown so when Joshua got to the unknown he would have the Courage and Confidence to overcome the enemy.

I must also realize that having a Sponsor isn't just a one week event but a 40 year event ! This will give me confidence when I need to overcome my character flaws and it will keep me from being overconfident thinking I can Recover on my own.

I must embrace this message of Sponsorship in the Ancient Scrolls knowing that it is a very important part if my Playbook for success!

I must also Sponsor a successor to myself so that when I go to be with my Redeemer in heaven the message of my Redeemer will keep going from generation to generation!

It is this Power of Sponsorship that is another step in my Recovery!

Now I Just Go and Win The Day!
