If so, you're not alone!
JESUS GETS IN FRONT OF OUR SITUATIONS!
"And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and His sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground. When he rose from prayer and went back to the disciples, he found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow."
Luke 22:44
Friends, Sometimes we have done all we can do to get in front of a situation and it is still not enough.
Here in the Garden it would seem that Jesus was the one in agony. However, notice what happened to His closest friends. It says, they were exhausted from sorrow sleeping.
JESUS GETS IN FRONT OF OUR SITUATIONS!
Jesus was in agony for a lot of reasons. Could it be He was in agony because His friends were so depressed and seemed so lost?
In the first Garden the Lord asked Adam, "where are you?" I bet the tone of God's voice was in agony.
JESUS GETS IN FRONT OF OUR SITUATIONS!
God was agonizing when Adam was hiding in the Garden and He was agonizing when His friends were Exhausted and Stressed out Sleeping in the second Garden.
Was Jesus putting down His friends for going to sleep or was He acknowledging what Worry and Stress will do to us if we don't get in front of it?
JESUS GETS IN FRONT OF OUR SITUATIONS!
Jesus wasn't surprised in either situation. Jesus knew the time had come to take on the mistake of the first man so the rest of us can live a life without stress and anxiety.
We can live a life of Joy knowing If I am not capable of being in front of my Worries and Stress He is.
At this time Jesus was ready to be Crucified for all of our Mistakes, Weaknesses, Stress, Anxiety etc..
JESUS GETS IN FRONT OF OUR SITUATIONS!
Yes Jesus was in Agony. Was the Agony of Worry because of the Pain He would go through at the Cross?
Or was the Agony He felt because He knew we would be in Agony Exhausted from Sorrow Sleeping if we didn't go to the Cross?
Jesus knew the Cross is where everything in life makes sense.
JESUS GETS IN FRONT OF OUR SITUATIONS!
Am I hiding like Adam? Am I trying to escape my sorrows by sleeping. Am I exhausted from Depression? Do I do things I know will destroy me?
When the Disciples were sleeping Jesus was agonizing and sweating great drops of blood.
When we are sleeping He is Sweating and Agonizing for us also.
JESUS GETS IN FRONT OF OUR SITUATIONS!
Jesus would say, "Hey, don't worry about it.... No sweat... I already took care of it for you"
When we are week He is Strong. He agonized so we wouldn't have to worry and get exhausted from sorrow.
JESUS GETS IN FRONT OF OUR SITUATIONS!
Just Go! Get After it!
Rick
