Have you ever been Ashamed or really Regretful for things you have done?

Have you ever been Super Disappointed in yourself and go over past mistakes over and over again?

Do you ever Mourn over your failures and feel you are all alone?

Jesus was talking with His friends one day about Attitude. He talked about how to be Happy and move on from past failures and defeat.

THE POWER OF GOOD NEWS!

Matt 5:4 says, "How Happy and Blessed are those that Mourn for they will be Comforted."

What are you Mourning and Grieving about today?

Mourning is used in a broad way here because Jesus knows this can apply to:

The Loss of a Loved One

The Loss of a Relationship

The Regret of a Past Failure

The Regret of a Lost Opportunity

The Regret of a Lifestyle of Deceit

The Regret of causing someone else's Pain and Suffering etc..

In some way or another we experience these emotions almost every day.

"The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God." Psalm 51:17

God loves to turn Mourning and Sorrow into Joy and Laughter. Notice Jesus says, "Happy and Blessed are those that Mourn for they will be Comforted." Matt 5:4

He doesn't say those that were mourning or are about to mourn. He uses the Present Moment Right Now.

A lot of times we want to Escape this Emotion because it hurts and causes us depression.

Jesus wants us to Embrace the Sorrow and the Mourning and not Escape!

Why?

When these times happen it is God's Opportunity to Minister to you and Comfort us. As weird as it may seem there is Joy in all of this as we are going through this.

Do we ever Stop and Think that Jesus is Weeping and Mourning as well?

Do we ever Stop and Think that Jesus wants and needs our Comfort and Encouragement just as much as we need His?

THE POWER OF GOOD NEWS!

This is the most Amazing and Fascinating thing in all the Universe. God wants and needs my Comfort as much as I need His?

Friends, this is the Power of the Gospel! When we realize we have the Opportunity to Comfort the Creator of the Universe who is also Mourning and Weeping we get an Unbelievable Power and Calm in the Midst of a Storm.

"He was despised and rejected--a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care." Isaiah 53:3

You see, the Greatest Power in the Universe is that we Do Care about Him. And that can only come from a Transformed Life of The Good News of the Gospel.

"I am not ashamed of the Gospel, because it is the Power of God for the Salvation of everyone who believes..."
Romans 1:16

Jesus lives to Comfort us in our time of Mourning.
