Team:
What is the difference between being Conformed and Transformed?
Conformed is being the same as your surroundings.
Transforming is to change your appearance.
All of us have situations where we have to "fit in." In other words we have to, "Conform to the Norm!"
Sometimes Conforming is called Peer Pressure.
Peer Pressure is when you are forced to do something that you don't want to do just to "Fit In."
CONFORMED OR TRANSFORMED?
Has this ever happened to you? It has happened to me.
Many of you are going away to college, starting highschool, junior highschool, new careers ect...
The easy thing to do when feeling unsure and pressured is to Conform or Fit In.
Is this the right thing to do?
CONFORMED OR TRANSFORMED?
During the first week of college there will be hundreds of groups trying to recruit you.
So how do you keep your focus? How do you avoid being the one that gets kicked out?
How do you avoid being the one that rolls his car and kills all of his friends?
"It won't happen to me."
"Those rules don't apply to me."
"I will just have a couple of....."
"I got away with it last time."
When Daniel was 17 he also went away to school. Daniel was alone and didn't know anyone when he went to the University of Babylon.
Daniel 1 tells us that Daniel Determined in his heart that no matter what he would not conform to the world!
Daniel was tempted many times in the book of Daniel but he stood strong every time.
Why was Daniel so Strong in his Determination to please God?
DANIEL WAS DETERMINED!
DANIEL WAS TRANSFORMED!
Remember, Conforming brings Slavery!
Transformation brings Independence. Independence brings Freedom!
Daniel had an inner Power and Confidence that only comes from a Total Transformation.
Daniel was brought to Babylon as a Slave. Daniel stood his ground and allowed his Transformation to bring him a position of Leadership within Babylon.
FROM SLAVE TO NATIONAL LEADER!
When we are Transformed we have the Freedom and the ability to say, "NO!"
CONFORMED OR TRANSFORMED?
"Do not conform yourselves to the standards of this world, but let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind." (Romans 12:2a TEV)
The way to be Transformed is to have a complete Change Of Mind.
The Bible tells us we are what we think about.
The Mind is a Powerful Tool!
In Phil 4 Paul tells us to Think On These Things....."
CONFORMED OR TRANSFORMED?
Just Go!!
