GREAT LEADERS RECOGNIZE COMPLACENCY

Team:

Have you ever wanted something so bad that all you did was think about it over and over?

Maybe it was a car or a ski boat?

After a while the newness wore off. The car wasn't as great as you thought. The ski boat keeps breaking down.

"How the gold has lost its luster, the fine gold become dull! The sacred gems are scattered at the head of every street." Lamentations 4:1

Sometimes our relationship with God can lose that excitement of when we first found God. After a while complacency sets in and we take God for granted.

When this happens we are very vulnerable. Complacency is a tough opponent.

So how do we defeat complacency? We keep reading the word every morning and allow God to keep working in our lives.

Another thing we can do to keep the excitement going and not get complacent is to mentor new believers.

Take someone under your wing and help them accomplish their goals in the Lord.

"Obstacles cannot crush me. Every obstacle yields to stern resolve. He who is fixed to a star does not change his mind."

Leonardo da Vinci

"I would put it to you, my dear hearer, have you been fruitful? Have you been fruitful with your wealth? Have you been fruitful with your talent? Have you been fruitful with your time? What are you doing for Jesus now?"

C. H. Spurgeon
