GREAT LEADERS WANT GOD'S FAVOR!

Team:

Do you want to have Favor with God? What is Favor?

Favor is an act of Good Will by someone to another without any strings attached. It is an act of kindness. It is Gracious. It is getting something I did not earn.

God wants to pour His favor on us but we have to ready to receive His Favor.

GREAT LEADERS WANT GOD'S FAVOR!

Here are three things that make us available to receive God's Favor.

"Has not my hand made all these things,
and so they came into being?"
declares the LORD. "These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word."
Isaiah 66:2

Just like a football receiver needs to prepare himself to receive a pass from the quarterback we need to prepare ourselves to receive God's Favor.

This is the foundation for receiving God's Favor:

Humble

"is the quality of being modest, and respectful."

Contrite in Spirit

Contrite heart means "to be completely penitent, feeling remorse and affected by guilt, deeply regretful and wishing to atone for sin."

Tremble at God's Word

"To be terrified to do the right thing; to do what God's Word says."

When we have these three attributes we are ready to Receive God's Favor.

GREAT LEADERS WANT GOD'S FAVOR!

The Bible says if we Humble ourselves in the sight of the Lord He will lift us up.

After we are Humble we realize we need to be fixed which leads to a Contrite Heart full of remorse because of my sin.

Finally, to Tremble and Fear when hearing His words is an act of Honor and Respect to the King knowing if I carry out His commands I will get Wisdom.

God's Favor was poured on Solomon as he received the greatest Favor one could ask for. Solomon received Wisdom.

How would it feel if we always made the Right Choices? Would we be Successful in Life?

GREAT LEADERS WANT GOD'S FAVOR!

David made some big mistakes in his life but he always Repented and came back using these three Attributes: Humble, Contrite in Spirit and Tremble at His Word.

David said, "I was Glad when they said let us go to the House of the Lord."

Why was David Glad? Because he was in a position to receive God's Favor. Now instead of Trembling he has Confidence knowing God is for him and wants the best for his life.

When we get God's Favor we get something we don't deserve. We can't earn His Favor He just gives it.

Friend, God loves you so much He went great lengths to reach out to you. He knew it would be impossible for us to do the three steps of Favor alone.

So God sent His Son Jesus to do it for us. Now we are in a position to receive God's Favor.

"Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins."
Rom 3:24
